Soundminer allows you to monitor manipulations and sound alterations in real time. Slow down the playback speed by 50% and you'll hear an entire universe of sounds opening up. You can change sounds with the newly integrated Radium Sampler or, alternatively, transfer your new sound creation into your edit system - with or without effects.
Soundminer will then render the effect with your parameters into a new audio file that can be used directly in your edit system. Simple as that.
The Radium Sampler is a custom-designed tool for Soundminer V5 Pro that allows you to manipulate sounds and create new ones. The Radium Sampler is available for the first time with Soundminer V5 Pro and was developed with the help of sound designers.
The Radium Sampler contains five slots for the loading of sounds. Sounds are loaded directly from your Soundminer sound archive, allowing you to quickly and efficiently create new sounds with the sampler.
For this, you can use all the features that come with a sampler: modulators, amplitude manipulations, pitch shifting - it's like a big box of toys for sound creatives.

Soundminer made a lot of effort to standardise the metadata fields of all major global production music and sound labels. When you register new sounds or music files with Soundminer, Soundminer will extract the metadata from the audio files to guarantee compatibility with all major labels and to give access to all metadata fields.
The metadata standard stipulates that database tables for production music and sounds should be optimised. The tables for production music include explicit music-related fields like 'composer', 'mood', 'instruments used' or 'artist'. These fields are not relevant for sound archives and are hence not included in the sound tables, which makes searching through large databases faster.
But Soundminer also offers mixed layouts that include all standard metadata fields.
We recommend using this particular layout. Ultimately, though, it's up to the user to pick his/her preferred layout.
You can play back multi-channel audio material via [SMRPO] and Rewire directly through your editing system. Your playback channels are sent over an internal, invisible cable straight into your editing system.
Then they are played back through your multi-channel audio hardware. The [SMRPO] Playback Module can play back up to 8 (7.1) channels via Rewire. The following formats are supported: M/S, LCR, LCRS, L/R/Ls/Rs, 5.1, 7.1.
